From TV SHOW ON DVD: Early this month we broke the hearts of manyLife Unexpectedfans. The show, which airs on The CW network, hadn't finished airing the second season broadcasts, and hadn't been officially renewed or canceled (nor has it been up to this date, either!). But we reported that Warner Home Video had formally announced an April 5th DVD release of both the first and second seasons of the show, on 6 discs, officially titled as "Life Unexpected - The Complete Series".
The words "the complete series", combined with TVGuide.com's word a few days earlier that show co-star Kristoffer Polaha had a new deal with CBS, seemed to spell doom for the program's fans. Since then, new schedule changes by The CW to move Hellcats (the cheerleader-themed series starring Alyson Michalka and Ashley Tisdale) into the Life Unexpected timeslot seems to confirm that the end is in sight for the Shiri Appleby/Britt Robertson show.

Today, however, we have a new promise of POTENTIAL hope for fans. We have to emphasize the word POTENTIAL, because - as we said in the headline above - it might not mean a thing. After all, the 2007 remake series of Bionic Woman had every episode released on a single DVD title called "Bionic Woman - Volume 1", and there never was a "volume two" because no further episodes were produced. The same thing could very well happen here, and we want to make that clear. Nevertheless, if a DVD title like "the complete series" could dash hopes, then the renaming of that title could certainly raise those hopes once more.

So, as a special Christmas gift to our readers, we wanted to let everyone know that Warner Home Video has provided us with new, updated package art for the April 5th release...and it shows a new, updated title, too! As you can see from the artwork below, Warner has renamed the 6-disc set as Life Unexpected - The Complete 1st & 2nd Seasons. That will work, just in case the show does manage to get renewed, or picked up elsewhere, or continued in any other form. Online retailers such as Amazon.com haven't updated their pre-order listings yet, but we expect that to occur shortly. We hope this means good things for fans!
